Why some depressed girls can’t smell the roses
While the article has a somewhat light tone to it, the point remains the same: depression is real and has biological and physiological causes.

Interesting article. Its a fact that our bodies are made up of systems, which are interdependent. When one system is faltering, others will be affected. When one suffers, others suffer. Seems like that concept shows up elsewhere, too (I Cor. 12:26, for example).
Many years ago in nursing school, we learned that complete loss of the sense of smell is devastating. The body’s experiences would be muted, limited, or, in other words, depressed. This couldn’t help but affect the emotions. Probably, even a partial loss of the physical sense of smell could contribute to what is considered the mental disorder, depression.
The physical and the mental are intertwined—–no way to get around that.

Your new site looks great. For some reason, I took notice of the dark background more so than on your former blog site.
Maybe its because of that little doorway of light in your header. Very appropriate!
Makes me wonder……without the existence of darkness, would light seen very important?
