  1. I love that line at the end where she says the Gospel gives comfort and encouragement, even if there’s no relief of symptoms. That’s a helpful distinction!

  3. This is such a difficult condition to cope with on many levels; the least of which is that it is ‘unseen.’ It is not like a broken bone that has an obvious cast for ‘proof’ of it’s brokenness. But, as Susan (commentator ‘above’) points out, the Gospel is what gives us comfort – in the midst of – our struggle. I was encouraged by today’s ‘devotional’ from Joni & Friends (Joni Earekson-Tada) to pray:

    “Almighty God, may I not ‘waste’ my sufferings today, but see in my response to them any sin of resentment, complaint, or bitterness that needs to be confessed. I praise you for your wisdom.” Joni (at: communications@joniandfriends.org)
