On the pills again

It looks like I will be going back on my regimen of medication. Thinks have been darker than usual around here for a time. I was hoping that some situations would change to improve things, but it looks like the hard road is the road of choice. Please keep me in your prayers. I know that this isn’t the end of the world, or even some kind of failure. But that is a hard view to overcome.

  1. Dear Pastor.
My thoughts are with you; tis a long road to struggle with any “mental illness such as clinical depression; heck I used to truly pray I had cancer.
    People understand that.

It is no failure to be on medication but I know what you mean as far
as feeling that wayl. It’s the wise choice so once does not slip so deep into depression they find the ultimate deperate act of suicide.

There was a LCMS Pastor in the Missouri Disctrict who did just that.

So please know you are miy prayers. God called you as called servant of the Word for a reason; if some day that is not possible he would understand.

    Blessings in Christ,
    Mary.

  3. Yes, prayers go up for your situation. Often, difficult situations just don’t change, do they. WE have to change our thinking about them. We can’t change other people or situations, we can only change our reaction to them.

  5. oh, I am sorry to hear this. I hate having to do that. I had been on cymbalta for a while which was OK but not a super good fix. They added in wellbutrin at a low dose, the extended release stuff… didn’t do anything so they said to stop. About a week later I was cliimbing the walls, deep sense of fear, dread, panic. I hate it!!

I hope they can find a combination that works without all the side effects. I know for me I have to make sure I get enough vitamin D in the winter especially… but getting off my pain meds has helped. I was on them because there were chronic pain issues that weren’t being dealt with by the docs until I demanded it in tears. sigh. Tell me how, if I’m already depressed, they expect me to go in and be forceful and direct about what I feel needs to be done for me?

I wish there was an easier answer.
