The wait is finally over!

Nearly three years after I began the process of writing this book, it is now available for free download. The free print version will be available sometime in mid-late July. It is at the printer as we speak.

I would urge you to go to the website listed below and order as many copies as they will let you or as many as you need. then download the book and start to get a sense of it. I am very excited and anxious to hear your thoughts on this, and I pray it will serve as a blessing to the Church.

I would especially like to thank Maggie Karner, Al Dobnia, Sarah M. Shafer, Philip Hendricksen, and the entire staff at LCMS World Relief and Human Care for their kindness and work in helping this project come to fruition. They are a wonderful group of people!

So check it out and let me know what you think.

  1. Hi, I tried to find the download but can't seem to figure it out. I tried three times to "Contact Us" but that didn't work either. Would appreciate some help locating the PDF. Thanks!

  2. I feel that "I Trust When Dark My Road" speaks to a very important issue. Neither clergy nor laity feels a need to hide their diagnoses of heart problems, cancer, diabetes, etc. But for too long we have suffered in silence with a diagnosis of depression or other mental illness. It is time we acknowledged that, though invisible, they are real and treatable. We must be about the business of helping to bear each others burdens rather than adding to them. Thank you, Pastor Peperkorn, for your courage in speaking out. Jan

  3. Hmm. The picture doesn't seem to be hyperlinked to the download page. I'm looking forward to reading it as soon as the link is fixed!

  5. I fried to order a complimentary copy of the book, but the link did not work. Can you help? Thanks!

  6. Can’t get a download, can’t make an order. I tried clicking on nearly everything. So close, yet… please help me.

  7. Great book. Important message for pastors.
I think that your theology on page 42 (Satan wants me to believe I am guilt of some wrong doing)is more accurate than that on page 10 (our Lord in His mercy chose to crush me….). Even in Job, God does not crush Job – Satan is given permission – but God has not taken the action.

  8. The link to the book on the LCMS website, shown above, does not work.

I did find a link that does work, but only as a link in a search result. The first result in this search has the PDF file of Pastor Peperkorn’s book.
