Part of the reason "Van Gogh's Ear" is taboo is because it is so nebulous and seemingly subjective. Cancer is obvious to the machines. Depression isn't. Until they get a brain scan or a blood test that says "depressed, you must have 'Van Gogh's Ear'" the taboo will remain. IMHO. FWIW.
