Nearly a week on Zoloft

It’s been nearly a week that I have been back on zoloft and clonapam. The side effects have been predictable: headaches, nausea and generally being tired. But overall I feel like my head is clearing up. I don’t expect to get the full benefit for another couple weeks.

Side effects always bother me. They just remind me that these drugs aren’t natural, and I worry that the side effects are worse than I really know about. But what I do know is that the alternative is worse. At least for me. It is in God’s hands. I am content.

  1. Dear DMR-

    I am thankful for you. And I am praying for our dear Lord to keep you in His peace & contentment. Though I am on two meds (Cymbalta, and as of last week, also Wellbutrin), I’m not out of bed yet, nor as content as I’d like to be; so I applaud you!

    John Piper’s blog encouraged me today (selected, emphasis mine):

    “[in the prayer of 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12] Paul prays that GOD would FULFILL our good resolves.

    How? He prays that they would be done “by [God’s] power.” That is, that they be “works of faith.”

    Why? So that Jesus would be glorified in us.

    “[Serve] in the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 4:11)

  3. Dear DMR-

    This (from ‘today’s quote’ from GraceGems) was also Very Encouraging:

    “(Thomas Watson, “The Lord’s Prayer”)

    Suffering Christian–remember that this
    is all the hell you shall have.

    Some have two hells. They suffer now in
    their body and conscience, which is one hell;
    and they will suffer eternally in another hell
    to come, in unquenchable fire!

    Judas had two hells–but a child of God has
    but one. Lazarus had all his hell here on earth;
    he was full of sores–but had a convoy of angels
    to carry him to heaven when he died. Say, then,
    “Lo! if this is the worst I shall have, if this is all
    my hell–I will patiently acquiesce. May Your
    will be done!”
